Luke, Luke, Luke... where do I begin?? This has been one heck of a week! He is just 100% boy, active, and curious - he isn't malicious, but mischievous.... there is no other way to put it! On Tuesday, I took a shower (99% of the time he comes with me, but on this day, he didn't). I left him, watching the garbage trucks in the bonus room window and hurried while in the shower. When I came out, (still dripping wet), he wasn't there, so I called him and he was downstairs. I headed downstairs, yes, still in a towel, and when I rounded the corner, what did I see on the carpet below me, but LIPSTICK!! Yes, bright Burgundy/red lipstick, on our nice ol' carpet. I kept going to find the marks on the floor, lipstick a few feet away, Luke standing in the dishwasher and a glass on the floor. (which luckily, didn't break when he put it there!) He had some lipstick on his jammies and on his face and leg... So, I immediately put him in the bath. While cleaning it off him with rubbing alcohol, Emma comes and proceeds to tell me that our cat, Java, is all red. She says, "come here, look!" so I did and sure enough, the cat's back was also covered in lipstick. Nice... so she also got cleaned with rubbing alcohol - what a way to start a Tuesday morning (especially when you have friends coming over in a little bit!) I Googled how to get lipstick off carpet, tried it to no avail on a small spot and called Chem Dry... they came today and got it all out (along with the spot I found in the living room!) This story has caused MUCH laughter for many people, and now that my carpet is clean (and cat), I can laugh as well... however, the 1 tube of lipstick I've had for about the last 5 years is now in the garbage. :) Please note... these pictures DO NOT do justice to the situation, and I didn't take any of he or the cat before they were clean. One of his "messes"
"Uh, Oh" (with prompting from friends, I took pics!)
Poor Java!
Also... I took care of our neighbor's cats for a little over a week while they were vacationing and so they brought me a beautiful wind chime. I love it!! The other morning (yes, right after the lipstick incident), Luke realized it made noise if hit so, after trying to throw his sippy cup at it (and having it land on his head... not always the brightest boy!) he found his bat, and that worked perfectly for him until I took it down. We have no relocated the chime, and he hasn't touched it since!
The best part of all of this, is that as crazy as he makes me, his smile has a way of wiping his slate clean. I guess that's the bond between a boy and his mama! (and, Emma has received MANY praises for her fabulous behavior!)

That is the greatest story! What a boy!
Oh man, that is way too funny! Well, kind of, right? He is such a boy! Since Zack never did that kind of stuff, I was a little taken aback when Drew started his mischief! You definitely have to watch these boys like a hawk! Sorry about your lipstick! ;)
oh dear.
this sounds familiar. One time I found Kyle covered in Cocoa Butter when I got out of the shower.
He,he,he!!! You're right! You and I do have flying dirt (or lip stick as the case may be!)!! At least you have the princess to balance things out a bit!! :)
