Luke is 2!!

As hard as it is for me to believe, my "baby" is now two! Two years ago today, at 5:11 am, Luke David Allen Morris entered the world. He was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 20 inches long. There were some "issues" that went along with his birth, which included working all day Thursday, going to my doctor's appointment after work, being sent for an ultrasound due to the fact I measured much smaller than I should have and then being sent straight into the hospital for an induction based on the fact I had zero amniotic fluid... all in all, his birth was a relatively quick one which included botched IV's and a horrible experience with the epidural - lets just say, it isn't fun to get one when you're in no pain at all, especially when the lady can't figure out what she's doing and keeps hitting bone. (Especially when in the end, it doesn't work!) No fun at all.... anyway, there were a couple of complications during labor and after he was born, he was whisked away to the NICU due to some breathing issues. Fortunately, everything was fine and within a few hours, he was back in our room to cuddle, hold, and share with everyone. Little did I know that day, when I looked at my beautiful baby boy that life in our household was really about to change!

Luke has always been a smiley, fun loving kid -from the day he could play, he has loved basketballs, footballs, and anything with wheels! He is happiest playing outside, riding his bike, or getting dirty. He is definitely 100% boy which adds some spice to life - Luke likes to climb the pantry shelves when he's hungry, get into cabinets locked with child proof locks and even write with lipstick on the carpet and cat... those are a few "highlights" of his short little life. (actually - just this summer... can't imagine what the future holds!) One of his "adventures" this summer even ended up causing me to fracture a bone in my knee... ah, the life of a mom! :)

Luke is spunky, silly, loud, and active but is also cuddly, caring, and nurturing. He loves playing with babies and is the first to try to comfort his sister if she is upset. (Maybe because he's usually the one to cause the tears?) We know the future holds many more "adventures" and can't wait to enjoy every one of them with our little boy!

Below is a video of Luke's past 2 years... it's a little long, but captures each stage - especially the roley, poley stage! Our little "Buddha Baby" is now a tall, slender little guy with blonde hair of all things. The second song is one of Luke's favorites... he loves to clap and run around the room whenever he hears it. Happy Birthday Luke!!

It has been fun watching you grow! You and Kyle are only 2 weeks apart. That is so fun! We should get together for more playdates this year! It is fun having you in Kyle's class at church too!
