Luke's Big Boy Bed!

Luke is in a big boy bed!! I didn't think getting him to stay in the bed would be an easy task, but so far (knock on wood), so good! We put Emma into a bed right before she turned 2. She was perfect, only got out once, and never had any problems. I wanted to put Luke into a bed around his birthday but at that point, I thought there was no way he would stay in. We decided last month to buy him a mattress, rather than the entire wood bed frame and it was delivered on Wednesday while I was home from work with two sick kiddos. The first night, he was perfect, stayed in, didn't have any problems, etc. He even called for us in the morning, just like he did from his crib. I took him to the walk in clinic on Weds. night and we didn't get home until 9:00 so he was exhausted so I thought for sure that had something to do with the instant success. However, last night went well too.

Testing it out...

I have been dreading naps of all things because this little turkey often decides he doesn't need a nap and stays awake and calls me the entire 2 hours he's in his crib. Today is the first nap day and so far, so good! I did just look in his room though and discovered he has gotten up and into his toybox and has some toys on his bed, and, he's still awake but at least he's staying in there! (Can you tell I was REALLY worried about how this transition would go?!)

As far as why his bed looks so big... we got him a full size bed because Emma inherited our queen when we bought our king. We decided it didn't make sense to buy her a new bed/mattress when we had a really great mattress and bed frame in our guest room and a baby on the way who needed that room. So, in all "fairness" we decided we'd at least get him one close in size to hers. :) Now, we can take the crib outta there and get rid of it, yeah!! Anyone need a crib?
